Classic Quote from LITTLE BLUE BOOK NO. 1523 published in Girard, Kansas, in 1930.
"But today students of morals agree that the only sound basis for a rational code of morals is 'THE GREATEST GOOD FOR THE GREATEST NUMBER.' Stated in different words this means that the rights of the individual are limited ONLY by the rights of others. One may do what one pleases, as long as it does not harm anyone else or the community as a whole. The common sense of this ethic ought to be apparent to everybody, but unfortunately the old religious superstitions are still held in theory, if not in fact."
